What is included in site preparation?

Site prep typically includes vegetation and stump clearing, rough grading to establish drainage and elevation, finish grading to spec, topsoil stockpiling, and sometimes culvert installation. The exact scope depends on your project — we'll walk the site with you and scope it specifically to your needs.

How long does site preparation take?

A single-home building pad can often be prepped in one to two days. Larger commercial or multi-lot projects take longer. Timeline depends on lot size, existing conditions, and the scope of grading required. We'll give you a project timeline estimate with your quote.

Do I need a survey before site prep?

For most projects it's strongly recommended. A survey establishes property boundaries and, for new construction, your engineer or builder will typically specify finished elevations that we grade to. If you don't have a survey yet, we can still come out and assess the site — many customers use our estimate visit to plan next steps.

Can you coordinate with my builder or contractor?

Absolutely. We regularly work alongside home builders, concrete contractors, and general contractors as part of a larger project team. We're responsive, easy to coordinate with, and focused on making sure our work doesn't hold up the next trade.

What if my lot has a lot of rock?

Limestone is extremely common in Williamson and Davidson counties. Depending on depth and hardness, rock can be broken with an excavator bucket, jack-hammered, or in some cases will require blasting (which we subcontract to a licensed blaster). We'll flag rock conditions during the estimate and factor them into your quote.

Do you do driveway and access road grading?

Yes. We grade and shape the sub-base for driveways, farm roads, and access lanes. We don't typically lay gravel or pave (that's a separate trade), but we set up the proper base grade, slope, and compaction for whoever does the surface.
