Forestry Mulching in Murfreesboro, TN

Back40 Land Services provides professional forestry mulching throughout Murfreesboro and Rutherford County, Tennessee. We serve homeowners, developers, builders, and agricultural landowners across one of Tennessee's fastest-growing regions — from new residential developments near Murfreesboro's expanding suburbs to established farm properties in the county's rural eastern reaches.

Forestry mulching is one of the most efficient and eco-friendly clearing methods available, and it's particularly well-suited to Rutherford County's conditions. The county's mix of former agricultural land, wooded creek corridors, and rapidly developing suburban edges creates exactly the kinds of clearing challenges that our Fecon-head tracked mulchers are built for. In a single pass, the machine fells trees, grinds stumps to below grade, and shreds brush — leaving behind a clean, mulched surface with no burn piles, no dozer scars, and no haul-off required.

Eastern red cedar encroachment has affected significant acreage of Rutherford County's pastureland over the past two decades. Cedar spreads aggressively into unmaintained field edges and fence lines — shading out fescue and native grasses within just a few years. Our forestry mulchers handle cedar up to 8–10 inches in diameter in a single pass, grinding the stump to below grade to significantly slow regrowth. We regularly complete large-scale pasture reclamation projects in the Rockvale, Lascassas, and Kittrell areas.

For new residential construction in Murfreesboro and Smyrna, forestry mulching is often the best first step in site preparation. It clears the lot completely without stripping topsoil or creating debris piles, leaving a clean, mulched surface that the builder can grade to spec. We coordinate directly with home builders and site engineers, and our fast mobilization times help keep construction timelines on track.

We serve all of Murfreesboro, Smyrna, LaVergne, Rockvale, Lascassas, and the broader Rutherford County area. All estimates are free and performed on-site.
